Organic Cowpea Dal Mogar (Split Black Eyed Peas)

Cowpea Dal Mogar is also known as split dehusked cowpeas. High in protein, calcium and folate, they aid in reducing cholesterol and increasing digestion. They are impeccable prepared as dal or served in a salad.


  • Cowpea Dal Mogar is also knows as chawli dal or lobia rongi. Cowpea Dal Mogar is a creamy colored lentil with a prominent black mark in its inner curve. It turns brown after cooking. It may be cooked as dal or just boiled and served with diced tomatoes, onions and salt for a snack. It works best if it is soaked for 4 or 5 hours and then pressure cooked. It is ideal for sprouting and may be served sprinkled on salads.
